I had fantastic surprise last week the Book Style me Vintage arrived at the door. A nice treat on a gloomy day. Last Summer I had the opportunity in assisting the very talented Naomi Thompson on her first book. She's a hard working lady with excellent knowledge of vintage, an inspirational lady. The book takes you through decade-by-decade guide picking out the key looks from 20's to 80's. A book full of inspirational imagery from costume to key fabric patterns and also a great read ( I'm not good at reading books however this was a fun book to ready). I'm not great with words and book reveiws for a full reveiw on the book go the Vanity caseTo buy the book its sold out on amazon!!! However it's sold here though.

Crochet Coma

I cant stop crocheting. I've gone into a crochet coma. There's many people in my life at the moment popping babies out. These shall turn into gifts, however I have a long way to go.

2011 ended up to be a busy year for me. In late November I got a chance to assist Hillman studio in producing a gigantic Doll for Italian Vogue (currently out now) pictured by Tim Walker. Here is the doll in action and pictures of the lead up.

A couple of weeks ago I was commissioned by Lucy Butler to creat a Knotty head piece for the Conran store, Fulham Rd to lunch their xmas window. Here is the final piece which Lucy also filmed the instilation late last week, see the film below. It was fun to make the creation alongside Hayley Macdonald. Thank you chums.

This Saturday & Sunday is the first renegade craft fair at Truman brewery. My amazing chum Alice Gabb will be there selling her fine things. I will be there helping on Saturday as I'm a nice friend and hopefully she will be feeding me tea and cake all day... hint hint...

Banquet feast

Last week I worked along side Victoria Fitchett on a food shoot based around banquets Henry VIII style. She is absolutely lovely and a joy to work with. Above is a snippet of the props for the shoot. Victoria discovered these amazing tea cups that she used for the shoot by Richard Brendon. They reflect the pattern of the vintage saucers underneath which I must say is an amazing idea and would look beautiful in any home.
The final imagery will be revealed in the christmas issue of Homes & Garden magazine.

Yesterday was the Opening for the vintage Festival down at the southbank. There were well dress people in the glorious sunshine surrounded by fabulous vintage items. Plenty of people flocked to the stand for Homes & Antiques where we were selling gems of vintage interior and magazine.

As I was on the stand chatting away to the amazing customers, I did not do much snooping. However over at heart Home mag Kate Baxter has done a excellent review of the day where you will see us Home & antiques magazine in our fine vintage attire.

I've been busy fluttering around the country this month. For the past few weeks I've been helping the lovely Kiera Buckley-Jones who is an interior stylist within Homes & Antiques magazine. Today has been a fun busy day setting up the Homes & Antiques stand at The Vintage Festival @ south-bank. Here is some sneaky photos of the stand.

There are amazing treats to buy from the stand. Including lampshades from folly & Glee and customised furniture from Casper.

Come on down this weekend. The shopping village is free and there are some great treats around.

I have a slight obsession with the colour yellow. The squared yellow fabric I've recently received as a gift is my favourite thing in the world. They use to be a curtain which has a slight towelled texture to it.
Isn't the colour yellow so beautiful.

I've recently just purchased this lovely book called My cool caravan. It brings back fond memories I had in our camper-van as a Kid. I've been wanting to pimp-out my mothers caravan for a while as she's thinking of taking it to the scrap yard. However I'm going to come to the rescue and save the caravan and dec it out with my own wallpaper and all vintage find. ..... I just need to build my print studio first......

As I'm trying to source a local print studio they gave me tips and advise to set my own print studio up. It was an exciting and an inspirational visit. I've currently been away on a Placement with lisa stickley. It was a good experience to learn and see how Lisa has developed her products into a successful company and being involved with a lovely team of workers. I'm sad that I had to make my placement a short visit.
Her shop is open 6 days a week on Landor Rd near Clapham North tube station. Go down and visit this lovely styled shop.

Today I have been busy shopping and crafting, I found this super cool tea pot in my local charity shop today, and with it I have made another tea cosy which is for sale on my etsy shop.

This little tea cosy used to be my great anti's dress. Now converted into a stylish tea cosy it can now add style and glamour in your kitchen with this lovely floral print.

I'm sorry for the bad photos I do not have a very good camera.

Car Boot what a hoot

Yesterday I went to my local car boot, this was the first time I had a chance to check my local car boot out. I was rather surprised at how well is was. Bit on the small side but I didn't expect anything fancy in Wales. here is a record of things I bought there. Me and my mum went a bit mad on the floral tea cups and plates plus being hangover didn't help on the impulse buying.

this is my favourite from the lot. I like the bold patterns.

Also last week I went into Tent to check out the creative talent being held at the Truman brewery in Brick Lane. I fell in love with Quirico Upholstery and the beautiful fabrics upholstery on 70's style furniture. This Family run company is based in Tuscany. Each piece of furniture has a story to tell and comes with its own passport explaining where the piece of furniture has come from and the sources of the various fabrics used.
